I'll be leaving tomorrow morning for Beijing and will be there teaching at Stanford's overseas campus until mid-December. Mark and I are starting by taking a few weeks of vacation to travel along the Silk Road. We'll go to Xi'an (home of the amazing terra cotta warriors), Dunhuang (the Mogao Caves are said to contain some of the finest examples of Buddhist art), Turpan (an oasis between east and west), and Kashgar (the western edge of China).
